Minimalism is not for everyone.

And I do not say this as someone who wants to gate-keep. Nor do I wish to come off as an elitist.

Minimalism is one of those practices that's aligned towards general contentment rather than goal oriented.

It is not crafted to bring you success. Or make you rich.

Who is minimalism meant for?

Minimalism is for those who want to do more by doing less. The idea is to reduce friction in what you do and how you do it.

Right now, I am making it easy for you to understand by not using complex words.

There are multiple forms of minimalism you can adopt.

Spatial Minimalism.

This is the act of reducing items and unwanted distractions in your vicinity to process and function better.

Digital Minimalism.

This is your ability to reduce screen time and unwanted digital interactions to better align with your goals while you are connected globally.

Mental Minimalism.

This is the process of reducing thoughts that cloud your judgment and reducing overloads that can lead to fatigue, insecurity and inaction.

Social Minimalism.

This is the idea of fixed quotas of social interactions with friends, family, colleagues in order to converse and deploy your social battery.

My most common minimalism practices.

I want to list some of my most common minimalism practices that you can adopt in your daily life starting today.

Return to zero

The best way to get rid of any form of addiction is to get rid of it entirely. No reduction and no cutting down. Just straight to zero.

Build it like a hackathon.

BILAH - if you are building something: a startup, an app, an Ikea furniture set - make sure that you build it like a hackathon instead of flirting with the idea of it.

Boring breaks

Instead of doomscrolling social media during a break, use it complete boring tasks like filing your nails or watering your plants.

Five minute reply rule

Always reply to argument heavy texts after 5 minutes; give the other person time to process their thoughts while you build a diplomatic response.

The big display

Remove all apps from your phone and move them to a bigger display especially if they are work oriented.

One meal a day

Simply having one meal a day in one pan can significantly save costs, efforts and regrets while fulfilling your nutritional goals.
